3-D items at Heart 2 Heart this week!

This week's challenge is a little different. Make a 3-D Project! This can be anything you like, but nothing flat like a card. Please remember to include Close To My Heart products in your design.

Note: You have until this Saturday, Feb. 4th at 10:00 pm EST to play along with the January challenges and be considered for a spot in our monthly Top Ten!

This week, I altered a couple of CTMH card boxes.

I used the Roxy paper pack and the color ready CORK alphabet.

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that my 4x6 photos fit PERFECTLY in this box! How perfect to store your photos or to transport your photos to a crop! Even a nice gift for Grandma with special photos enclosed!

Heart to Heart Scrapbooking Sketch

Heart to Heart Scrapbooking has a monthly sketch, here is the sketch for this month

And here is my layout:

I used up some older CTMH paper "Magnifique" and added some Flutter Paper Shapes.

For the title, I used my favorite, Color ready Alphabets!!! Just add ink with your sponge dabber and voila, a perfectly matched title for your layout.....that's what I love CTMH!!!

Heart 2 Heart Inspiration Challange

For this weeks Heart 2 Heart challenge, we had to use this picture for inspiration while creating a card, layout, etc

I used the Dreamin paper pack for this layout.

I really wanted to use CTMH cork letters for the title, but I could not find them, so I used this corregated alphabet and blinged it up a bit with Glitz Glitter Gel.

Heart 2 Heart challenge - Week 2

This weeks challenge at Heart 2 Heart is a color challenge!!!

Think snow with these colors: Crystal Blue, Amethyst, White or Colonial White.

Step it up add-on: Add glitter.

It was a blizzarding cold day here and I decided that I was done with snow, so I thought of spring instead!

I did stick to the colors though!

To create by background paper, I stamped my flower images with versamark ink and then clear embossed, after I sponged my two colors over top....treating it as a resist.

I used the Hooray Bouquet stamp set.

I created the layout below using the stamp set from the Sonoma workshop on the go, and to further challenge myself, I also used the Sonoma paper.

I have had this paper and stamp set since the fall and have never used it as I am not a great fan of purple. BUT now that I have used this paper and stamp set, do I ever LOVE them both!

Here is my layout for this months sketch. I used HARMONIE (Canadian!!!) patterned paper, stamps and embellishements!

I also used American Crafts Thickers, LMS stickers and Martha Stewart glitter glue.

Check out my dd at her 3rd day of camp.....uncombed hair and all....well why bother when you are in and out of the lake all day, that's what camp is all about! ha ha! She had a great time!

I really love these Harmonie stamps and was impressed with the sharp images!!!

We had a marvelous Thanksgiving Day!!!

It was spent with my hubby, kids, Mom, sister in law, neices and nephew and good friends! I loved it!!

It was a sunny fall day and we enjoyed a walk down to the river. While we were there, we took the opportunity to snap a few family photos.

After an afternoon of great company and sunshine (sitting outside without jackets...a rarity for Canadians in October) we feasted on turkey, cabbage rolls, stuffing and pumpkin pie (and alot more).

I am so thankful for my family and that we all had the time to spend the day together, I wish every weekend could be this wonderful!

I cut this "french fry" box with the NEW ARTS PHILOSOPHY CRICUT cartridge from CTMH!

And then altered it with the new ROXY paper pack!!!

All from Close to my Heart!

The banner and SUPER COOL flowers are also cut with the same cartridge. Doesn't that stamp image fit that banner just perfectly? CTMH makes it so easy and so FUN!

I can see this filled with dress up jewlerry at a girls party or filled with goodies at a place setting for a dinner party...so many possibilities.

AND it only took me about an hour to whip up! NICE!!!

Card Box

The more I use the new ARTS PHILOSOPHY CRICUT cartridge from CLOSE TO MY HEART, the more I LOVE IT!!!

I created this cute little card box with that cartridge, this makes it sooooo easy. After I cut the box out of cardstock, I covered with pp. Then I started decorating.

The collection comes with 3 stamp set that work hand in hand with the cartridge. I was wondering how I was going to figure out the settings for my machine so that I could cut my shapes the exact size for the stamp...BUT CTMH has that figured out. On the carrier sheet for the stamp set, the dial setting is printed right there! OMG soooOOOooOOOOooo easy once again!

I also cute the card bases from that same cartridge. It reallly is jammed packed with shapes, cards and 3-D objects!!!!!!

Texture Kissing!!!

You have all heard of stamp kissing, now there is TEXTURE KISSING!

Ready to do some kissing?

Stamp kissing that is, the visual kind that adds texture to stamp images to give them creative interest. Today, we’ll focus on texture kissing—check out some of these great ideas using August’s fabulous Stamp of the Month, Wicked (S1008A).

Take for instance the “Have a wicked Halloween” card. To add a subtle texture, Waxy Flax was wrapped around some chipboard in an unorganized fashion (see image on right). Then the stamped of the witch’s dress was kissed on the Waxy Flax and stamped off on another piece of paper.

This larger tag was created using our exclusive Cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy.

To create the look yourself, first cut a piece of paper with multiple images by setting the machine to autofill

Next cut the tag shape to the size indicated on the stamp carrier sheet.

Stamp the image in second generation ink onto the Cricut-cut shape

Place the paper that has been cut using the autofill function over the Cricut-cut shape and then stamp the image again.

The technique is quick and easy and what a great look! Whether you’re “kissing” or using another medium to add texture, you’ll always convey your “passion” for stamping!

We are moved in!

But still unpacking! It has been a crazy couple of weeks, but it was sooo worth it! We are in the new house and have most our stuff unpacked....still lots to do though!

What you see here is about 1/2 of the space. On the other side of the desk, I have room for 4-5 tables for teaching classes and having friends over. We will renovate this space in the winter, adding new flooring, a dropped ceiling with more lighting and fresh paint! It is such a blank slate right now and the renos will look sooooo nice! Until then I am super happy to have such a large space to create in! Hopefully I will have all my goodies unpacked soon!!!!

I can dream about it!!! Well folks, we are getting closer to the big moving day, we have the entire house packed up and are ready to move things out on Wednesday!!!!!

I have really been missing my scrapbook supplies!!!! They have been tucked away in boxes for weeks now!!!

Good morning my fellow bloggers and scrapbookers! You may have noticed that I have been MIA lately...but with good reason. We had decided to list our house in May so I have been busy decluttering and keeping the house nice and tidy for showings.

Yesterday it SOLD!!!!!

We are so excited! It's not a huge move for us, just a house upgrade. We are going to a teeny tiny to an ample sized house!

So, the next 3 weeks will be all about packing, in fact my scrapbooking room is already in boxes....dh thought that was the logical place to start hmmmm.....so I will see you in 3-4 weeks.

Once I get settled in my place I'll be ready to create again AND it will be just in time for the NEW Close to My Heart idea book!!!

Ha ha! I have stamped and inked the ENTIRE layout! NO PATTERNED PAPER was used! I created the two peices of patterned paper with Close To My Hearts "Two Step Background" stamp set and two colors of ink...so easy and I LOVE the look! The Doily was cut out with my Cricut and then sponged to create an aged look. You have to try this stamp set!!!!

I had alot of fun creating this card!! I stamped the background with Versamark Ink and Clear Embossing Powder then sponged ink over top. I repeated this process several times until I was happy with the effect. I added Prisma Glitter to the butterfly wings.

I should be thinking SPRING but had to scrap this cute picture of Hannah and her doll "Taryn". Hannah got her Mapelea Doll (Canadian Girl) for her b-day in August and she has not put her down since. I love the fact that she adores this doll...keeps her away from TV and video games!

Oh this layout sure made me think of summer! We had so much fun on out last summer vaction. We went to Vernon BC and loved it there! It was so nice an hot, we spend alot of time in the campground swimming pool!
I used a sketch from GYSO! All papers and accessories are CTMH. I created the "spray" on the white cardstock with CTMH's new spray pen and reinker.

This week has been CRAZY!!! We put in an offer on a house on Friday, and it was accepted! YAY! So then, we had to get our house decluttered and ready to list!!! OMG! 15 years in this house...we have ALOT of stuff!!! We still have a few things to do, so not much time to scrapbook. :-(
I do intend on playing along at GYSO this week....here is a sketch to inspire you... MAYBE I'll have time to play tomorrow! In the mean time, sweet dreams!

I used the Close To My Heart Miracle workshop kit for this layout, I didn't care for the layout in the workshop guide, so I used one from Jeanette Lynton's Magic book.

And I'm still loving that Pennant Alphabet stamp set!!!!

Have a great weekend! I am busy busy this weekend with a Memorial Hockey Tournament held in memory of my brother who I lost last fall at the young age of 42. I miss him soooo much and I am sure I will shed a few tears this week end but will also share some laughs will all the fabulous family and friends that are coming out to show their support!!! I will be sharing pictures on Monday!

Yes, I know, I really should get to bed so that I can function at work tomorrow, but my mind is too busy planning my FUN for the weekend!! Here is a color challenge from SCRAPBOOKERS PARADISE!!!

I LOVE Scrapbookers Paradise and sure wish I lived close to one of their stores! My sister is so lucky to live a short 5 minutes away from the Red Deer store.....for me it's *gasp* 4 hours!!!! maybe a good thing for my pocket book LOL!

I MAY join in on the fun tomorrow evening, if I can keep my eyes open after my work day at the bank...which BTW ends around 7:30 AFTER the supper dishes are done...you know the routine. So if I don't catch up tomorrow, I'll be posting on Saturday as it's laundry day and that's my favorite time to scrap....am I strange or what..nah just a busy working Mom! <3

Get Your Sketch On - Life Is Good

For this weeks GYSO sketch, I used 7 Gypsies Lille Paper : Life is Good!!! I used Smooch Sprtiz on the Riff Raff chipboard.

For the bottom strip, I covered it with 2 way tape and then sugar beads. The effect is glorious, I wish you could see it IRL!

I wanted to do the layout that was included in the Wings worshop flyer, but it didn't quite work with my photos. So I changed up the papers (still from the Wings level 2 pack) and grunged up the layout with some Vinyard Berry re inker in the spray pen. I made the title with my Cricut (Doodlelicious). Don't you just love Close To My Heart?

WINGS layout with a sketch

I also used the WINGS paper pack from Close to My Heart for this two page layout and again the Bohemian alphabet. I used a Sizzix die to cut my flowers, I then put some Vinyard Berry re inker in my spray pen and sprayed the flowers.

I used the sketch from the Heart to Heart Close to My Heart Challenge blog. Like Mary, I made a two page layout, with the second page rotated.

The title is stamped with the brand new alphabet Bohemian Alphabet, I love that set!

I had so much fun with this sketch from the Heart to Heart Close To My Heart challenge blog that I made two cards!

For this first card, I used the just released Sophia paper from Close to My Heart. The stamp set is only available with the Sophia workshop on the go!

I used the Pacifica paper pack for this card and the brand new Dreams Come True stamp set. I love Close To My Heart!

The first three cards are made with the Magnifique workshop kit. You can see from my post below how incredible these kits are!!!!! Magnifique is truly one of my favorite paper packs!

This birthday card does not feature a CTMH stamped image, but I love stamping and coloring images like these!!!!!

The first 3 cards are made with the OLIVIA workshop kit. The Workshop kits that CTMH sells are so terrific! The come with a level 2 paper pack, EXCLUSIVE stamp set (only avaialble with that kit), embellishments and a step by step woprkshop guide. CTMH makes it so easy!!!!!
Aside from the instructions for the cards, there is a step be step guide for a double page layout. You also have tonnes of paper left over to create your own art!

I used paper from the Olivia paper pack and the "A Sip" stamp set for this card. This is an A sized stamp set, CTMH makes stamping so affordable, you can get this set of 8 images for only $9.25!

Snowflakes and Clear Cards!

You Are One Of A Kind! I used the Ice Crystals stamp set for this card. I random stamped the background and added glitter to all of the snowflakes. Did you know that Close To My Heart sells CLEAR CARDS? They come in different shapes and sizes. They are so much fun! I was able to run the front of my card through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder...adding so much COOL texture!!!
